Accompanied by son and business partner Jason (dragged kicking & screaming),it was off to Stush In The Bush which I had wanted to visit since hearing about it from a friend months ago.
We had to park off the roadside and go down the lane by foot, as the fact that it had rained earlier and we drove a Honda motor car (no fourwheel drive) were not conducive to negotiating the road. Along the way we passed met a cow who we dubbed Annabelle, happily grazing on copious amounts of grass and exchanged greetings with a couple of area farmers tending their fields.
The panoramic view of the landscape….breathtaking. We were greeted by the amiable and easy going Christopher Binns who welcomed us a taste of an organic strawberry and well fell into a short conversation. It was not long before Lisa stuck her head out inviting us on up the house which is built atop a 33,000 gallon water tank, the interior of which is painted light blue to discourage the growth of algae.
We had caught them in the midst of preparations for an incoming group and just fell in with me - sampling, observing & chit chatting with Lisa as she prepped her delicious fare & Jason accompanying Chris on his harvesting jaunts to reap Lisa ‘shopping list’.
Some of the delicious treats that Lisa prepared
Needless to say, at the end of it all I had to drag Jason kicking & screaming away! :)
Thanks for a great day guys!
