The Cellar 8 KGN experience begins on entry!
Ultra modern yet inviting, the design & decor at Cellar 8 KGN are in perfect harmony with their menu offerings!
Cellar 8 is a wine aficionado's dream, boasting over 300 wines from which to choose; some of which are unique to Cellar 8 KGN like the Chakana wines. Friends & colleagues can relax, celebrate or reconnect over a drink from their well stocked premium bar either at the bar, a table or in the cool lounge upstairs. This in addition to savouring delectable bites served by knowledgeable, attentive & friendly staff!
Their menu offerings are wide, varied & scream attention to detail - flavour combinations are off the chain!. Hats off to Executive Chef Ramesh Maragh & his culinary team on this! Not very knowlegeable about wine? No problem! Gillian, their in-house wine guru is usually on hand to guide and educate!
Some of what we sampled - all of which had our taste buds doing the happy dance!
A truly great place to enjoy life one sip at a time and enjoying gastronomic delights! Thanks to Cellar 8 KGN for accommodating us! We'll be back sooner than you think!
Team Pop Up Gourmet Jamaica
Amazing food & drink were the order of the evening at Chefs On Show 2016 as over eighteen of Jamaica's top chefs and caterers got into high gear serving dish after delicious dish to the delight of the many patrons who attended the event in the gardens of the Jamaica Pegasus on April 27th, 2016.
Chefs On Show is staged annually by the Culinary Federation Of Jamaica to raise funds to assist with expenses associated with sending our national culinary team to the prestigious Taste Of The Caribbean in Miami where individuals and regional teams compete for bragging rights as the best in the Caribbean. Below are some of the many chefs & caterers who gave of their time and talent to make the event the success tha tit was.
Among the attendees was Two-Time Chopped Champion - Jamaican Chef Andre Fowles - who just narrowly missed a third Chopped win.
Soup is the perfect appetizer and is traditionally enjoyed as a main meal, for either lunch or dinner, in most Jamaican households on a Saturday. A few Jamaican favourites are Pumpkin Beef Soup, Pepperpot,Red Peas, Manish Water (goat soup), and my personal favourite, Chicken Foot Soup. Oh yes, I love those little ‘scratchers’.
Kingston Kitchen 2015 was a buzz with lots of excitement & culinary treats from some of Jamaica's best. Truly a 'foodie's paradise.
Tea Tree Crêperie
What do you have when you combine a party promoter/marketer/website designer genius, a former diplomat and European based cuisine? Why none other than Jamaica’s first crêperie which has already become famous for their crepes and other delectables. Previously housed at the enclave called 8 Hillcrest, it now has a larger and more airy new location at 80 LMR on Lady Musgrave Road.
The weekend was one filled with 'culinary happenings' featuring top Trinidadian Chefs Jason Peru & Amit Raval + Award Winning Jamaican Executive Chef George Matthews. It was a weekend of culinary ooohs & aahhs, as taste buds were tantalized by dish after dish of the absolutely delightful fare created by these truly talented gentlemen.
