Roe Japanese has been open since November 2013. Our main chef Michiko Asanouma arrived in Jamaica over 30 years ago and fell in love with our people, culture and cuisine.
Roe Japanese is an authentic Japanese fine dining experience which transports people from Kingston to an exotic culinary adventure. Our menu is unique because it marries Jamaican food with the best and freshest Japanese sushi.
We pride ourselves on our Japanese chefs’ culinary mastery, combined with a love for Jamaican cuisine. We consider our guests 'royal', and we are proud of our high standard of service. Our restaurant is an oasis in Kingston, giving the experience of being transported out of the island.
Roe Japanese has menu items for persons who are o the ITG diet, including but not limited to a homemade lite salad dressing called the Core Skinny. You can always get a light and healthy meal here, and fast.
There are a selection of high end imported loose leaf teas which are exclusive to Roe, they include the Peach Oolong, White Persian Melon and the Coconut Pouchong. These are served hot or cold, and they have also been transformed into cocktails, making our signature cocktails a hit, the Peach Oolong Cosmo, the white Persian melon cosmo and the Coconut Pouchong rum cocktail, the cucumber saketini, all very fresh and light served cold in martini glasses.
We serve homemade lemonade. We do freshly blended fruit punches and have the best rum cake in the island of Jamaica, served with Devon House vanilla ice cream, that with a cup of Blue Mountain coffee is heaven. Also, there are the banana and nutella crepe and the sea salt and caramel crepe for desserts and Michiko's very own homemade melty pudding.
Vegetarian options include the Core Skinny, Roots Rock Reggae, Accompong rolls, edamame, miso soup, seaweed salads or any of our tofu dishes.
Kids have a menu option here as well, the JFC (Japanese Fried Chicken) is the best kept secret in Jamaica. Our teriyaki sauce is a secret family recipe from Tokyo, Japan and is second to none.
