Warren Rowe truly believes as a Chef, we have an awesome
responsibility within our community; we must act responsibly, share our
knowledge and be ambassadors for our trade and Country.
Born in Westmoreland, Jamaica, Chef
Rowe started working in a Hospitality Industry at Couples Negril January 2001 at
the age of 17 straight out of High School without any formal training. He started
as a trainee, his passion for food grew from there and the culinary profession
has become a major focus in his life. Over a period of Six (6) years and
promotions over that period he left Couples Negril in 2006 as a Kitchen team
Leader (Kitchen Supervisor).Chef Rowe's next challenge was at Starfish Hotel in
Trelawny where he spent two and a half (2 ½) years as a Sous Chef.
His first Executive
Chef Job was at the famous Norma’s on the Beach at Sea Splash Hotel in Negril.
Which gave him the opportunity to work with one of Jamaica’s finest Chef Mrs. Norma
Shirley who is regarded as the Julia Child’s of the Caribbean where he worked
for 2 years. He then enrolled in one of the best Hospitality Intuitions, Western
Hospitality Institute where he was a student lecturer. In order to balance
work, school and lecturing, he had to relocate to Montego Bay to the Grandiosa
Hotel as the Executive Chef in 2010. One of the highlights of his studies was
getting the chance to complete the advance aspect of the program in Canada at
Seneca College and Liaison College which he also impart his knowledge attain in
the Hospitality Industry.After
successfully completing a Bachelor of Science Degree in Hospitality Management
with a major in Culinary Chef Management. He decided to return to where his
culinary journey began in Negril. He’s currently The Executive Chef at the
Rock House Hotel and Spa on the West End side of the island.
With thelove and
passion for food Chef Rowe became a member of the Culinary Federation of
Jamaica which he’s currently a Vice
President of region 3 which in includes Westmoreland, Hanover, St. Elizabeth
and Manchester.
