The 600 invited guests who attended the US Ambassador's 237th Anniversary Celebration of the Independence of the United States of America were taken on a culinary tour of the USA which was supervised and expertly coordinated by the Ambassador's Executive Chef George Matthews . The sumptuous fare prepared by Executive Chef James Ben Cottrell of the Marriott Marquis & Marina in San Diego, California, Executive Pastry Chef Steve Evetts of the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York and Executive Chef Armando Monterroso of the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York with the able assistance of students from the Institute of Recognized Qualifications featured traditional dishes from the Northeast, Southwest and Gulf Coast regions of the United States.
